The Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology division is equipped with excellent infrastructure to provide complete comprehensive care to the cardiac surgical patients.
Every operation suit is equipped with a vital parameter monitor, an inhalational anesthetic gas monitor, a high-end Anesthesia machine and tech vaporizers. MRI-compatible anesthesia machine, monitors and infusion pumps are present in MRI suit.
A variety of gadgets are available for managing difficult airway in adult and pediatric patients.
Intraoperative monitoring modalities essentially include point-of-care Activated Coagulation Time monitors, heparin-protamine titration system (Hepcon) and cardiac output monitoring, besides routine vital parameter monitors.
Training in transesophageal echocardiography offered is unique in India, as the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesiology division possess 4 TEE machines in its armamentarium, including the latest live 3D-TEE (Philips, iE 33). We routinely use TEE during adult and congenital cardiac surgery.
Postoperative intensive care units are also designed to provide best quality care to the adult and pediatric surgical patients. Ventilatory therapy is accomplished using microprocessor based ventilators and non-invasive BiPAP ventilators.
